An Ongoing Practice

Culture & Craft

Across every place we build, the hand of the artisan stands alongside the hand of the architect.

We work directly and repeatedly with a small circle of Vietnamese workshops across six disciplines. Each piece is made for a specific place we build—and, in parallel, offered for sale to those who wish to bring the same craftsmanship into their own homes.

Furniture & Traditional Lanterns

Unique pieces are carved by local artisans using traditional techniques and hardwoods. Originally created for Thiên Ý Huế and the wooden village in Cúc Phương National Park, they can be seen in their original setting.

Installed Craft

Carved screens, panelling, and fixed architectural elements built into each dwelling as it's constructed.

Bronze

Cast and forged bronze works, from lamps and statuary to monumental pieces, created in Huế and the northern provinces.

Ironwork

Forged gates and iron window frames following traditional Indochinese patterns—a distinctive feature of Huế architecture, used throughout the villas.

Glass

Stained and painted glass, used in windows and screens across our properties.

Ceramic

Ceramics and mosaics, from tableware to architectural tilework.

Bronze and leatherwork from this practice are also available directly, at copperbath.net and leathersofa.net.
